First, let me say that I like very much the kind of things Gabor is
saying about the content of his course. With a little bit of massage
his first paragraph works well as something to communicate to
prospective students.
 
About practical issues - yes, there are unpleasant hoops that visitors
have to jump through, and it is best to get started on them right
away. So, we should write a letter of invitation to him.  It should be
specific about the time and the compensation. He mentioned running his
course the first week, but if he'll be in residence for both weeks
that's fine. Usually we offer a per diem of $120/day and cover travel
expenses (he's right about the US carrier requirement also). If you
want to offer more per diem (the IRS max is $148/day) or honorarium,
let us know and we'll write the letter of invitation.
