What is a BP?
What does it mean for me to be a BP (Benjamin Peirce Assistant
Professor)? It means that I am a junior faculty member, so I can
teach graduate and undergraduate courses, advise students, and vote.
The BP position is not tenure-track, so my position here is only
guaranteed through May 2005.
As of October 2001, the math
department web page lists 13 BPs and 15 active full professors.
